Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs in Sunday Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 (28 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic 
  • 2 teaspoons sugar 
  • ​​​​​​​1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt


MEATBALLS

  • 2/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1.25 pounds 80/20 ground beef 
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder 
  • 1 container (8 ounces) small fresh mozzarella balls

1.    Add the tomatoes to the CleanCrisp™ Glasswear and use your hands to gently crush them. Then add the minced garlic, sugar and salt to the tomatoes and stir to combine and set aside.
2.    To a large bowl add the breadcrumbs and milk and stir to combine and let stand for 1 minute then add the remaining ingredients except the fresh mozzarella and use your hands to combine evenly then divide into 20 meatballs (approx. 1 ½ tablespoons each). 
3.    Stuff each meatball with a fresh mozzarella ball and reshape it into a ball ensuring to cover the cheese completely with the meatball mixture. Add the meatballs into the sauce in rows of 5. Then place the CleanCrisp™ Glassware in the TOP POSITION.
4.    Press the FUSIONCRISP button. Turn the dial to set the microwave time to 25:00. Press the AIR FRY button, then turn the dial to 25:00. Press the dial to start cooking.
5.    When 12:00 minutes remain in air frying, use oven mitts to remove the CleanCrisp™ Glassware from the unit. Carefully flip the meatballs with tongs then return the CleanCrisp™ Glassware to the unit to continue cooking.
6.     When cooking is complete, use oven mitts to remove the CleanCrisp™ Glassware from the unit and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
