New York City – Notice of Use of Automated Employment Decision Tools
If you are applying for a role based in New York City, please note that SharkNinja may use an automated employment decision tool as part of our application review process. This notice explains how the tool works, what it assesses, and your options. It supplements, and should be read together with, our Candidate Privacy Notice.
The Tool We Use: Talent Matching
Talent Matching is an AI-powered tool used to rank applications against the stated requirements of the role you have applied for, to support consistent and efficient shortlisting. It evaluates the content of your application, including your CV, work history, qualifications, and skills as submitted by you, against the qualifications and characteristics identified for the role.
Talent Matching supports our recruitment team's decisions; it does not make hiring decisions on its own. A member of our recruitment team, trained to recognise, mitigate, and help prevent bias, reviews Talent Matching's output together with your full application before any screening or shortlisting decision is made. The recruitment team member has the authority to disregard or override the tool's output.
Data Used and Its Source
Talent Matching uses the CV content, work history, qualifications, and skills you submit as part of your application, together with AI-generated ranking outputs and match reasoning derived from that content. This data comes directly from you and the materials you provide during the application process.
Talent Matching outputs are retained only for as long as necessary to support the recruitment decision and any legally required record-keeping period. They may be deleted sooner if you make a valid request for destruction. Please see our Candidate Privacy Notice for further information about data retention.
Bias Audit
Talent Matching is audited for bias by an independent auditor at least once every 12 months.
Talent Matching has not yet been used to evaluate New York City candidates. Because no historical usage data currently exists, the initial audit is based on test data, as permitted under Local Law 144. The audit summary identifies this and explains the source of the test data.
Talent Matching's use is expected to begin on August 10, 2026 for New York City candidates.
A summary of the most recent bias audit, including the source and explanation of the data used, the number of applicants assessed, and the selection or scoring rates and impact ratios by race or ethnicity and sex category, is available at https://trust.warden-ai.com/greenhouse/talent-matching.
The summary is updated at least annually and remains posted for at least six months following the tool's most recent use.
