Bell's Southwest Turkey Burger

Ingredients

For the Burgers

  • 10 oz uncooked ground turkey uncooked ground turkey
  • 2 teaspoons Bell's Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon egg white powder
  • 2 brioche buns
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Toppings

  • 2 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced, skin and pit removed
  • 1/4 cup Bell's Fried Onions
  • 1/2 cup romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons ranch dressing

Utensils needed

  • Instant-Read Thermometer
  • Large Bowl
  • Small Bowl

Instructions

Step 1
Insert grill grate in unit and close hood. Select GRILL, set temperature to MEDIUM, and set time to 12 minutes. Select START/STOP to being preheating. 

Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, seasoning, salt, and egg white powder.

Step 3
Divide the mixture into 2 portions and form patties about 3/4 inch thick.

Step 4
Brush the cut sides of the buns with the melted butter. When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place buns on the grill grate. Close hood and grill for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

Step 5
Place the patties on the grill grate and close the hood. After 6 minutes, use silicone-tipped tongs to flip the burgers.

Step 6
After 4 more minutes, check the internal temperature of the burgers using an instant-read thermometer to ensure they have reached 165°F.

Step 7
Top the burgers with the sliced pepper Jack cheese and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted, then remove from grill. 

Step 8
In a small bowl, toss the fried onions, romaine lettuce, and ranch dressing to combine.

Step 9
To assemble the burgers, place the sliced avocado on the bottom half of each bun. Place a burger on top of the avocado. Top the burger with the lettuce mixture. Place bun on top and serve.
